Animal Landlord

Animal Landlord, part of the Biology Guided Inquiry Learning Environments (BGuILE) software application, supports students in their exploration of animal behavior. Used with the Behavior Matters curriculum, Animal Landlord combines video and simulations to help students explain animal behavior through experimentation and observation.

Students watch a collection of video clips showing different animals foraging for food. The software helps students focus on the complex nature of this seemingly simple behavior. They can compare behaviors among different animals by observing the animals in the videos and analyzing and annotating what they see. The program also gives students a chance to learn and practice the methods used to collect behavioral data.
